Upton Science Education Lab

The Upton Science Education Laboratories are state-of-the-art facilities, designed to support students in undergraduate elementary education degree program with their studies.  In addition, the facility has the goal of assisting practicing teachers who are engaged in inquiry-based learning to explore topics aimed at improving their science content proficiencies.  

Some science education topics that the lab has been used to explore include:

  • Constructing Ideas in Physical Science
  • How the Earth Works
  • Teaching Science with Toys
  • Atmospheric Science

Each student station is equipped with both IBM and Macintosh computers to support the delivery of inquiry-based instruction in the areas of physical science, life science and earth science.
